PAST TENSE

Simple Past tense is a form of tense that describes an event that occurred at a specific time in the past. The verb used in this tense must be the second verb (verb 2).In this chapter past tense is used in recount text.

1.) Positif

S + V2 + O

S + Tobe (was/were) + Adjective/Adverb

= We attended festival last week

    She was absent yesterday

2.) Negatif

S + did not + Infinitive Verb + O

S + was/were + not + Adjective/Adverb

= We didn't attend the festival last week

    She wasn't absent yesterday

3.) Interrogative

Did + S + Infinitive Verb + O

Was/were + S + Adjective/Adverb

= Did they attend the festival last week ?

   Was she absent yesterday ?
