The purpose of this text is to entertain the reader.

Characteristic of Narrative Text :

-Use action verb in the from of Past Tense 

-Use certain nouns as people pronouns.

-Using adjectives that make up noun phrase

-Use conjunction to sort events

THE STRUCTURE OF THE ISSUMBOSHI TEXT

ORIENTATION :

Once upon a time there was an old couple who didn’t have a child.

COMPLICATION :

One day, from the household Shinto altar they heard a cute cry, “Waa! Waa!”

RESOLUTION :

Issumboshi jumped at the Demon and stabbed his eyes.

REORIENTATION :

The Princes and Issumboshi the got married, and they invited Granfather and Grandmother to live....
